Victor Hugo Mendevil is a Native American, disabled poet based in Boston. Originally from Seattle, he holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Hofstra University and is currently enrolled in Northeastern University’s MA in English program. Victor currently teaches First-Year Writing at Northeastern and founded the NU Writing Center’s Creative Writing Group. His poetry touches on his experiences as a mixed-race individual and Myasthenia Gravis patient, and crafts family stories in the form of narrative medicine.
