Ann Russell graduated from Harvard University and holds a PhD in English Literature. After a long career in conservation of art and artifacts on paper, she turned to fiction writing, taking numerous writing classes at GrubStreet in Boston. Her stories have appeared in Bellevue Literary Review, Epoch, Joyland, Southern Humanities Review, Permafrost, and other journals. She has been nominated for the Pen/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers. She has been a runner up in contests of Greensboro Review, Nimrod, Ruminate, and Bellingham Review.
